Agapanthus Summer Love™ White – Supplied in a P17 (2-Litre) Pot
Plant Highlights: Compact evergreen agapanthus • Rounded heads of white flowers • Produces new flowering stems through summer • Strong choice for sunny patio pots • Neat, strap-shaped foliage
Overview
Agapanthus Summer Love™ White is a compact African lily selected for its generous flowering and tidy growth. Sturdy stems carry rounded clusters of white, trumpet-shaped flowers above a dense clump of narrow green leaves.
New flower stems can develop through the summer, giving this cultivar a longer display than many traditional agapanthus. Its low-growing habit makes it particularly useful for patio containers, courtyards and the front of sunny borders, where the flowers can be viewed at close range.

Growing Guide
Grow in full sun for the strongest flowering. Plant in fertile soil or peat-free container compost that drains freely, as agapanthus roots dislike sitting in cold, waterlogged conditions.
Water when the upper layer of soil or compost begins to dry, checking container-grown plants more frequently during warm or windy weather. Reduce watering in winter when growth slows. Feed container plants during active growth with a balanced liquid fertiliser, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
In Dublin and other mild, sheltered areas, plants may retain much of their foliage through winter. Protect the pot and crown during prolonged frost, particularly in exposed gardens, and keep container plants out of persistent winter wet.
Seasonal Care
Remove faded flower stems at the base when the display has finished. Damaged or untidy foliage can be cleared in spring as fresh growth appears.
Agapanthus generally flowers well when comfortably established in its container. Repot or divide only when the roots have become very congested or flowering begins to decline.
Good to Know
Although described as evergreen, the amount of foliage retained through winter depends on temperature, exposure and drainage. Some leaves may be damaged or lost during colder weather before fresh growth resumes.
