Growing Guide

Indoor Placement

Place in bright, indirect light, avoiding prolonged direct sunshine, which can scorch the leaves. Keep the plant in a warm room away from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes.

Watering

Water when the top layer of compost begins to dry, keeping the compost lightly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering during periods of slower winter growth.

Humidity

Higher humidity helps keep the foliage looking its best. A bright bathroom with natural light is ideal, or increase humidity around the plant if your home is particularly dry.

Feeding

Feed monthly with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during autumn and winter.

Good to Know

It is normal for Alocasia to produce new leaves while occasionally shedding an older one as it grows. Wipe the leaves gently to remove dust and help them show off their natural sheen.
