Plant in a sunny, open position for the best flowering. It performs exceptionally well in rockeries, gravel gardens, raised beds and along the edges of walls where drainage is excellent.
Water regularly during establishment. Once established, plants become drought tolerant and require only occasional watering during prolonged dry periods. Container-grown plants should be monitored more frequently.
Grow in well-drained soil. Sandy, gravelly or stony soils are ideal, and incorporating horticultural grit into heavier ground will improve drainage and help maintain healthy growth.
Fully hardy throughout Ireland. Good drainage during winter is important to protect the evergreen foliage and crown from prolonged wet conditions.
Lightly trim the plant after flowering to encourage a neat, compact habit and remove any faded flower stems. Divide mature clumps every few years if required to rejuvenate growth.
