Growing Guide
Grow in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Armeria pseudarmeria performs well in sandy, gravelly or stony soils and dislikes prolonged winter wet. Once established, it is relatively drought tolerant and requires very little maintenance.
Remove spent flower stems to encourage further flowering and keep plants looking tidy. Divide mature clumps every few years if required to maintain vigour.
Wildlife
The nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, making 'Ballerina Red' an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.
Why We Love It
'Ballerina Red' offers larger, more vibrant flower heads than many traditional thrift varieties, providing bold colour over an extended season while retaining the neat evergreen foliage that makes it attractive throughout the year.
