Armeria pseudarmeria ‘Ballerina White’
13cm Pot – Approximately 25cm
Plant Highlights: White summer flower heads • Compact evergreen foliage • Long flowering season • Suitable for rockeries and containers
Armeria pseudarmeria ‘Ballerina White’, also known as sea thrift, is a compact evergreen perennial valued for its tidy clumps of grassy foliage and rounded white flower heads. The upright stems rise above the foliage to create a clean, airy display that works beautifully in rockeries, gravel gardens, edging and patio containers.
Unlike lower mat-forming alpines, Armeria pseudarmeria forms a slightly fuller clump, making it useful where a little more presence is wanted while still keeping a compact habit. Its evergreen foliage provides structure throughout the year, with the main floral display appearing through the warmer months.

Choose a sunny position for the best flowering and strongest growth. Armeria suits open, well-drained areas and works particularly well in gravel gardens, rockeries, raised beds and coastal-style planting schemes.
Water regularly while establishing. Once settled, avoid keeping the soil constantly wet. Container-grown plants may need more frequent checking during warm or dry periods as compost dries out faster.
Good drainage is essential. Plant in gritty, free-draining soil or raised areas where excess moisture can escape easily. Avoid heavy soils that remain wet through winter.
Remove faded flower heads to keep the plant tidy and encourage further blooms. Trim away any tired foliage as needed while allowing the evergreen clump to maintain its natural shape.
The main display comes when the rounded white flowers rise above the foliage in spring and summer. Outside flowering, the neat evergreen leaves continue to provide texture and structure in smaller planting areas.
Armeria pseudarmeria ‘Ballerina White’ is a useful choice where a compact perennial is needed for a sunny, well-drained position. It is especially effective when planted where its neat form can be viewed up close.
