Asplenium antiquum
Confirmed format: 12cm Pot
Plant Highlights: Bright green arching fronds • Elegant bird's nest growth habit • Thrives in humid indoor spaces • Adds year-round architectural texture • Easy to care for in the right conditions
Asplenium antiquum, commonly known as the Japanese Bird's Nest Fern, is an attractive evergreen houseplant grown for its fresh green, arching fronds that emerge from a central rosette. Unlike many finely divided ferns, its broad, gently rippled fronds create a bold, architectural look while maintaining a soft, natural appearance. Its tidy, upright habit makes it an excellent choice for shelves, side tables and plant stands, where its lush foliage brings a calming touch to bright indoor spaces. It thrives in warm, humid conditions, particularly in bathrooms with natural light.
The broad, glossy fronds provide a fresh, tropical feel without becoming overly large or difficult to manage. Its simple yet architectural form works equally well as a standalone feature or alongside other foliage houseplants.
