Nutrient Analysis

Bone Meal has a high phosphorus content with a smaller amount of nitrogen. This nutrient balance is particularly suited to encouraging strong root growth, while supporting healthy plant development and greener foliage.

How to Use

Established Trees & Shrubs

Apply 135g per m² around the base of the plant.

Gently fork the granules into the soil surface without disturbing the roots. Alternatively, distribute them over the soil around the plant and water in thoroughly.

New Trees & Shrubs

Apply 135g per m² to the planting hole and mix thoroughly with the soil or compost used to refill the hole.

Do not leave concentrated fertiliser directly against the roots.

Flowers

Apply 135g per m² to the soil surface and gently fork in, taking care to keep the granules away from leaves and stems.

Water thoroughly after application.

Vegetables

Apply 70g per m² as a top dressing and work thoroughly into the soil.

Measuring

One handful of Westland Bone Meal is approximately 35g.

For continued soil fertility, applications can be repeated every 4–6 weeks during the growing season.

When to Use

Apply from February through to the end of October.

Good to Know

Use Bone Meal only where there is a recognised need and do not exceed the recommended application rate. Excessive fertiliser can damage plants.

Land treated with this product should not be used for grazing or growing animal feed for 2 months in the case of pigs and 3 weeks for other farm animals.
