The pack contains two replacement pheromone lures designed specifically to attract male box tree moths. When fitted to the compatible reusable trap, the pheromone attracts males towards the trap, where they enter through the funnel and become trapped.
As well as helping reduce opportunities for mating, the system provides a valuable early warning of box tree moth activity, allowing gardeners to inspect nearby Buxus plants for caterpillars and feeding damage before an infestation becomes severe.

How It Works
The refill contains pheromone lures formulated to attract male box tree moths.
Once installed in the compatible Vitax trap, the lure attracts males towards the unit. Moths enter and drop through the trap's funnel.
Catching male moths can help reduce mating where pest pressure is relatively low. More importantly, catches provide an indication that adult moths are active and nearby box plants should be inspected for signs of infestation.
How to Use
Open the refill packaging when you are ready to replace the existing lure.
Remove the old lure from the Vitax Box Tree Moth Trap and fit a fresh pheromone lure in the designated position, following the instructions supplied with the trap and refill.
Return the trap to its monitoring position near the Buxus plants and inspect it regularly for moth catches.
Use the second lure when replacement is required to maintain monitoring through the season.
When to Use
Box tree moths are generally active from mid-April through to October, with activity typically peaking between mid-July and the end of September.
Continue monitoring throughout the active period and inspect nearby box plants when moths are detected.
