Growing Guide

Position

Grow in full sun or partial shade in a sheltered position. It performs well in borders and large containers, making it a versatile choice for formal planting and entrance displays.

Watering

Water regularly during establishment and throughout prolonged dry periods. Container-grown specimens should be checked more frequently, particularly during warm weather, while ensuring excess water drains away freely.

Soil

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Good drainage is especially important in heavier Irish soils to support healthy root development.

Pruning

Clip lightly once or twice during the growing season to maintain the crisp spiral shape. Use sharp shears to achieve clean cuts and avoid trimming during periods of extreme heat or frost.

Perfect For

• Formal gardens
• Entranceways
• Courtyard gardens
• Statement patio containers
• Planting in matching pairs

Good to Know

The spiral form has been carefully trained over several years. Regular light trimming helps preserve its elegant shape and encourages dense, healthy evergreen growth.
