Growing Guide

Position

Place in a bright position with plenty of natural light. A sunny windowsill or bright conservatory is ideal for most cactus varieties. Avoid dark locations, where growth may become weak or distorted.

Watering

Allow the compost to dry out completely before watering thoroughly. During autumn and winter, reduce watering significantly as growth slows. Never allow the pot to stand in water.

Compost

Grow in a free-draining cactus or succulent compost. The terracotta pot helps excess moisture evaporate, reducing the risk of overwatering.

Temperature and Humidity

Maintain normal indoor temperatures above 15°C and protect from frost. Cacti thrive in the low humidity typically found in centrally heated homes.

Routine Care

Rotate the pot occasionally to encourage even growth. Feed sparingly with a cactus fertiliser during spring and summer following the manufacturer's instructions. Handle carefully, as some varieties have sharp or fine spines.

• Sunny windowsills.
• Home offices and desks.
• Shelves and coffee tables.

Good to Know

This is a mixed selection, so the species, shape, spine pattern and growth habit of the cactus supplied will vary. All varieties share the same preference for bright light, excellent drainage and allowing the compost to dry between waterings.
