Place your cactus in the brightest position available, ideally with several hours of direct sunlight each day. Water only when the compost has dried out completely, then allow excess water to drain away. During winter, reduce watering significantly as growth naturally slows.
Use a free-draining cactus compost and ensure the pot has drainage holes. Avoid overwatering, as cacti are adapted to dry conditions and prolonged wet compost can lead to root rot.
Cacti bring sculptural beauty to any room with very little maintenance. They look striking on their own or grouped together with other succulents, making them a great choice for windowsills, desks, shelves and contemporary plant displays.
Best suited to bright rooms with plenty of natural light, such as sunny living rooms, conservatories, home offices and south- or west-facing windowsills.
Each cactus is unique, so the variety supplied may differ from the images shown. Handle carefully, as many species have sharp spines or fine barbed hairs. Rotate the pot occasionally to encourage even, balanced growth.
