Growing Guide

Plant in moist, well-drained acidic or neutral soil in a sheltered position with partial shade. Camellias perform best when protected from strong morning sun during frosty weather, helping to preserve both flower buds and open blooms.

Water during prolonged dry spells, particularly while the plant is establishing and when flower buds are forming. Apply a mulch suitable for acid-loving plants each spring to help retain moisture and maintain favourable soil conditions. Where soils are alkaline, grow in a large container using ericaceous compost.
