Plant Highlights: Mixed selection of ornamental sedges • Evergreen foliage for year-round interest • Ideal for borders and containers • Adds texture and movement • Suitable for sun or partial shade

Overview

This mixed selection of Carex offers a variety of ornamental sedges grown for their elegant, arching foliage and year-round garden interest. As this is a mixed assortment, the exact variety, foliage colour and variegation will vary, but every plant provides attractive texture and a naturally graceful habit.

Carex is invaluable for softening the edges of borders, weaving through perennial planting or adding structure to patio containers. The gently arching leaves bring movement to planting schemes throughout the year and combine beautifully with flowering perennials, ferns and shrubs.

Growing Guide

Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Most ornamental sedges perform well in full sun or partial shade, depending on the variety, and appreciate consistent moisture during prolonged dry periods, particularly while establishing and when grown in containers.

Remove any dead or damaged leaves as required to keep plants looking fresh. Established clumps can be divided in spring if they become congested.

Good to Know

This is a mixed product, so the exact variety, foliage colour, mature size and growth characteristics will vary. The description includes only features common to the ornamental Carex varieties in the assortment.
