Growing Guide
Plant in a warm, sunny, sheltered position in well-drained soil. Ceanothus performs best where drainage is excellent and benefits from protection from cold, drying winds, particularly in exposed gardens.
Water regularly during the establishment period and during prolonged dry spells, especially when grown in containers. Apply a mulch in spring to help conserve soil moisture, keeping it clear of the main stem. Avoid heavy pruning into old wood; lightly trim after flowering if required to maintain the pyramid shape.
