Growing Guide
Plant in a sunny position in fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, this perennial is tolerant of short periods of dry weather, although it performs best with occasional watering during prolonged dry spells.
Remove spent flowers regularly to encourage continued blooming throughout the season. Cut the stems back after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage healthy new growth. Divide established clumps every few years in spring or autumn if required.
Wildlife
The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, making this an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.
Why We Love It
'Amethyst Dream'® produces a generous display of richly coloured flowers over many weeks, bringing both colour and valuable nectar to the summer garden. Its upright habit and long-lasting blooms also make it an excellent choice for cutting gardens.
