Indoor Placement

Position in bright, indirect light to maintain the strongest variegation, although it will also grow well in lighter shade. It is well suited to living rooms, home offices, bedrooms and naturally lit bathrooms.

Avoid prolonged direct afternoon sun, which may scorch the leaves, and keep away from cold draughts for the healthiest growth.

Growing Guide

Allow the surface of the compost to dry slightly before watering thoroughly, ensuring excess water drains away freely. Reduce watering during winter as growth naturally slows.

Feed occasionally with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser during the growing season. Mature plants will often produce cascading stems with young plantlets that can be rooted to grow new plants.

Spider Plants perform well in hanging planters, on shelves or in decorative pots where their arching foliage and cascading plantlets can be fully appreciated. Repot only when the roots begin to fill the container, as slightly pot-bound plants often thrive.
