Clematis ‘Avalanche’
Clematis ‘Avalanche’ (Clematis × cartmanii) is an evergreen climber prized for its finely cut, fern-like green foliage and a profusion of starry white flowers that appear in early spring. Compact yet vigorous, it creates a striking cascade of blooms that brighten the garden when little else is in flower. Its evergreen leaves provide year-round texture and interest.
Care Tips: Plant in fertile, well-drained soil with roots shaded and top growth in full sun or light shade. Water regularly in dry spells and feed during the growing season to encourage abundant flowering. Minimal pruning is required – simply tidy after flowering to control shape.
Best Location: Perfect for covering fences, trellises, or low walls, and also well suited to containers on patios and balconies where its early flowers can be appreciated up close.
