Overview
Clematis 'Justa' is a reliable Viticella Group clematis, producing an abundance of rich violet-purple flowers over a long season from midsummer into early autumn. The elegant blooms stand out against fresh green foliage, providing vibrant colour when many earlier-flowering climbers have finished. Renowned for their vigour and straightforward care, Viticella clematis are excellent garden performers. 'Justa' is ideal for training over trellises, pergolas, arches and fences or for weaving through shrubs and climbing roses to create natural-looking combinations with extended seasonal interest.
Why We Love It
Flowers freely over many weeks, extending colour into late summer. Simple annual pruning makes it an easy clematis to grow. Rich violet-purple flowers pair beautifully with roses and other climbers. Adds height and seasonal interest without taking up much ground space.

Growing Guide
| Position | Grow in full sun or partial shade. For best results, keep the roots cool by applying mulch or planting low-growing companions around the base while allowing the stems to grow into the light. |
|---|---|
| Watering | Water regularly during the first growing season and during prolonged dry periods, particularly for plants grown in containers. |
| Soil | Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid sites that remain waterlogged in winter. |
| Pruning | As a Group 3 clematis, prune hard in late winter or early spring, cutting all stems back to a strong pair of buds approximately 20–50cm above ground level. This encourages vigorous new growth and abundant flowering each summer. |
