Clematis 'Nelly Moser'
2 Litre Pot | Supplied approximately 65cm tall
Plant Highlights: Large pale pink flowers • Distinctive darker pink central bar • Flowers twice in the season • Ideal for walls, arches and trellises • Excellent for containers
Clematis 'Nelly Moser' is one of the best-loved large-flowered clematis, producing spectacular blooms in soft pale pink, each petal marked with a distinctive deeper pink central stripe. The impressive flowers appear in abundance during late spring and early summer, with a lighter repeat display often following in late summer, extending the season of interest.
Its elegant climbing habit makes it an excellent choice for training over trellises, arches, obelisks and fences, where the large blooms can be appreciated at eye level. Supplied approximately 65cm tall in a 2-litre pot, it is ready to establish quickly and bring vertical colour to the garden.

Grow in full sun or partial shade with a support such as a trellis, obelisk or pergola. In Irish gardens, flowering is often best where the stems receive good light while the roots remain cool and shaded by neighbouring plants or a layer of mulch.
Water regularly while establishing and during prolonged dry spells. Container-grown plants should be checked more frequently during warm weather, ensuring excess water drains away freely.
Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive soil with good drainage. Incorporating organic matter before planting helps retain moisture while maintaining healthy root growth.
'Nelly Moser' belongs to Pruning Group 2. Remove dead or weak stems in late winter or early spring and lightly trim after the first flush of flowers if needed to encourage a second display later in the season.
The delicate flower colour is often at its best in a position with some afternoon shade, as very strong sun can cause the blooms to fade more quickly.
