Clematis 'Olympia'P15 Pot

Plant Highlights: Compact patio clematis • Masses of mid-blue flowers • Repeat flowering from late spring into autumn • Ideal for containers and small gardens • Easy pruning

Overview

Clematis 'Olympia' is a compact deciduous climber from the Boulevard® collection, bred by Raymond Evison for reliable flowering and manageable growth. It produces an abundance of elegant mid-blue flowers with creamy yellow anthers from late spring through summer, often followed by a second flush in early autumn. Flowers may be single or occasionally semi-double, adding extra interest to the display.

Its naturally compact habit makes it an excellent choice for patios, balconies and smaller gardens, where it can be grown in a container or trained over a small obelisk, trellis or arch.

Growing Guide

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil with support from a trellis, obelisk or wires. It also performs exceptionally well in large containers. Position the plant so the stems receive plenty of light while the roots remain cool and shaded by surrounding plants or mulch.

As a Group 3 clematis, prune hard in late winter or early spring by cutting stems back to around 15cm above ground level. This encourages vigorous new growth and abundant flowering each year.

Why We Love It

'Olympia' offers all the beauty of a large-flowered clematis in a compact plant that is easy to accommodate in smaller spaces. Its exceptionally long flowering season and straightforward pruning make it an excellent choice for both new and experienced gardeners.
