Growing Guide
Plant in full sun for the richest foliage colour, although it will also grow in partial shade. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil and, once established, tolerates periods of dry weather better than many shrubs.
Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish a strong root system. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring if required and mulch around the base to help retain soil moisture while keeping the crown clear.
Pruning
Prune lightly in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and remove any dead or crossing branches. Established plants can be pruned more firmly if a larger display of vigorous foliage is desired, although this may reduce flowering for that season.
