Overview
'Queen of Carpets' is a prostrate evergreen Cotoneaster that spreads into a dense, low mat. Small glossy leaves provide year-round cover, while white flowers appear in early summer and are followed by bright red-orange berries from autumn into winter.
Its carpeting habit is useful on banks, slopes, rockeries, at the front of borders and across difficult open ground where a low woody groundcover is needed.

Growing Guide
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Water regularly through the first growing season so the roots establish evenly. Once settled, the plant is robust, but newly planted specimens should not be allowed to dry out during prolonged dry weather.
Allow enough room for its broad spread and keep neighbouring plants clear while it establishes.
Pruning
Little pruning is required. Remove dead or damaged shoots and trim back growth that extends beyond its allotted space. Avoid routine hard clipping if berries are wanted for autumn and winter display.
