Cymbidium Cascade Mix – Supplied in a P14 Pot with 2–6 Flowering Stems
Plant Highlights: Cascading sprays of orchid flowers • Mixed selection of colours • Supplied with 2–6 flowering stems • Long-lasting indoor display • Prefers bright light and cooler rooms
Overview
This Cymbidium Cascade Mix contains an orchid selected for its arching to trailing flower stems. Each stem carries a succession of waxy blooms above long, strap-shaped green foliage, creating a full display that can last for several weeks in suitable conditions.
Flower colour, markings and bloom size vary across the assortment. Plants may produce flowers in shades including white, cream, yellow, green, pink or burgundy, with contrasting lips and patterned centres depending on the hybrid supplied.
Cascade cymbidiums are particularly effective on a plant stand, raised table or deep windowsill where the flowering stems have room to arch naturally.

Indoor Placement
Place in a very bright position with protection from intense midday sun through glass. Some gentle morning or evening sunlight is beneficial, particularly during the darker Irish winter.
Cymbidiums prefer cooler conditions than many tropical houseplants. A bright, cool living room, kitchen or glazed space is generally more suitable than a consistently warm position. Keep the plant away from radiators, fireplaces and hot, dry air.
Avoid frequently moving or rotating the plant while it is in bud or flower, as sudden changes in light and temperature may cause buds to drop.
Growing Guide
Water when the upper layer of orchid compost begins to dry, soaking the root ball thoroughly before allowing excess water to drain. Do not leave the nursery pot standing in water or allow water to remain inside a decorative cover pot.
Reduce watering after flowering and during periods of slower growth, while ensuring the roots do not remain completely dry for long. Feed with a suitable orchid fertiliser during active leaf and root growth, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
After flowering, remove each spent flower stem near its base. Repot only when the compost has begun to break down or the plant has clearly outgrown its container, as cymbidiums often flower well when relatively snug in their pots.
Seasonal Care
Cooler autumn temperatures help initiate the next set of flower spikes. During summer, the plant can benefit from a bright, sheltered outdoor position once nights are reliably mild. Protect it from harsh midday sun, slugs and strong wind, and bring it indoors before temperatures fall sharply.
Good to Know
This is a mixed hybrid product, so flower colour, markings, stem length and mature dimensions will vary. The number of open flowers and buds will also depend on the plant’s stage when supplied.
