Delosperma Yellow with Eye – Ice Plant (2 Litre Pot)
Plant Highlights: Bright yellow daisy-like flowers with a contrasting eye • Long flowering season • Low-growing evergreen ground cover • Excellent for rockeries and gravel gardens • Tolerates dry conditions once established
Delosperma Yellow with Eye is a compact, mat-forming alpine grown for its vivid yellow flowers, each featuring a contrasting central eye. Flowering over an extended period in the warmer months, it creates a colourful carpet that is particularly effective spilling over walls, edging pathways or filling gaps in rockeries and gravel gardens.
Its succulent evergreen foliage helps it cope well with dry conditions once established, making it a practical choice for sunny, free-draining sites. It also performs well in containers and alpine troughs where excellent drainage can be provided.

Plant in a sunny position with sharply drained soil. Delosperma performs best where excess winter moisture can drain away freely, making raised beds, rockeries and gravel gardens ideal locations. Water regularly during establishment, then only during prolonged dry periods.
Avoid heavy, waterlogged soils, particularly in winter, as these can reduce the plant's longevity.
Few alpines provide such a long-lasting display of bright flowers while remaining compact and easy to accommodate. Its evergreen foliage provides year-round structure, and the low-growing habit softens the edges of paving, walls and containers.
Remove spent flowers if desired to keep plants looking tidy and encourage continued blooming. In spring, trim away any winter-damaged growth before fresh growth begins.
Good to Know: The 2 litre pot refers to the container size at the time of sale and not the mature spread of the plant. Excellent drainage is the key to reliable performance, especially through wet Irish winters.
