Growing Guide

Position

Choose a sheltered position in partial or full shade, protected from strong winds that can damage the large fronds. Tree ferns thrive in woodland-style planting where humidity is naturally higher.

Watering

Keep the soil consistently moist, particularly during dry weather. In warm periods, water the crown as well as the surrounding soil, as new fronds emerge from the top of the trunk. Container-grown specimens will require more frequent watering than those planted in the ground.

Soil
