Indoor Placement
Light
Place in bright, indirect light to maintain the vivid leaf colouring. It will tolerate moderately bright positions, but stronger natural light without prolonged direct midday sun helps keep the variegation at its best.
Temperature
Thrives in normal household temperatures and appreciates a stable environment away from cold draughts, open doorways and direct heat from radiators.
Watering
Water when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry. Allow excess water to drain away completely, as Dracaenas prefer slightly drier conditions rather than constantly wet compost. Water less frequently during the darker winter months when growth naturally slows.
Humidity
Average indoor humidity is generally sufficient, although occasional wiping of the leaves helps keep them clean and looking their best.
Growing Guide
Feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser during the growing season to encourage healthy new growth. Rotate the pot every few weeks so all sides of the plant receive even light, helping it maintain a balanced shape.
Perfect For
- Living rooms
- Home offices
- Bedrooms
- Conservatories
- Reception areas
Good to Know
Brown leaf tips can occasionally develop if the compost becomes too dry or if there is a build-up of minerals from tap water over time. Allowing water to stand before use, or occasionally using rainwater where practical, can help minimise this, while avoiding overwatering keeps the roots healthy.
