Growing Guide

Position

Place in bright, indirect light for the healthiest growth. Dracaenas also tolerate moderate light levels but should be protected from prolonged strong direct sunshine, which may scorch the foliage.

Watering

Allow the upper layer of compost to dry before watering thoroughly. Empty excess water from the saucer or cachepot and avoid leaving the roots sitting in water.

Compost

Grow in a quality free-draining houseplant compost in a container with drainage holes.

Temperature and Humidity

Average household temperatures and humidity are generally suitable. Keep away from cold draughts, radiators and other direct heat sources.

Care

Feed monthly with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser during spring and summer. Wipe the leaves occasionally to remove dust and maintain their healthy appearance. Dracaenas can be sensitive to fluoride and mineral salts in tap water, so filtered or rainwater may help prevent brown leaf tips where this is an issue.
