This rounded compact shrub, that was held sacred by the ancient egyptians, produces delightfully ruffled, fragrant, trumpet blooms. Its love of the sun and warm temperatures makes it the ideal candidate for any south facing windowsill.
Sow seeds on the surface of a good, freedraining, damp, seed compost. Then lightly cover, 15mm (1/2in ) deep with vermiculite or compost. Place container in a light place with an average room temperature of 20-22˚C (68-72˚F) until after germination which usually takes 30-40 days.
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, taking care not to damage the fragile roots, into larger pots.
