Overview
Echinocactus grusonii, commonly known as the Golden Barrel Cactus, is one of the world's most recognisable cacti. Its perfectly rounded shape, deep ribbing and striking golden-yellow spines create a sculptural display that suits both modern and traditional interiors.
Slow growing and exceptionally long-lived, this cactus is an excellent choice for sunny windowsills, desks and shelves. Its architectural form makes it a standout specimen on its own or as part of a collection of succulents and cacti.

Growing Guide
Indoor Placement
Position in the brightest location available, ideally on a south- or west-facing windowsill where it will receive several hours of direct sunlight each day. Rotate the pot occasionally to encourage even growth.
Watering
Allow the compost to dry out completely before watering. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain away. During autumn and winter, water only sparingly as the plant enters its resting period.
Humidity
Average household humidity is ideal. This cactus prefers dry air and does not require misting.
Feeding
Feed once a month during spring and summer with a cactus fertiliser at the recommended rate. Do not feed during winter.
