Edgeworthia chrysantha 'Grandiflora'

Confirmed format: 5 Litre Pot

Plant Highlights: Highly fragrant golden-yellow flowers in late winter • Large rounded flower clusters on bare stems • Attractive winter branching structure • Excellent specimen shrub for gardens or large pots • Provides valuable early-season garden interest

Overview

Edgeworthia chrysantha 'Grandiflora', commonly known as the Paperbush, is an elegant deciduous shrub that provides one of the garden's earliest floral displays. Before the leaves emerge, rounded clusters of large, fragrant golden-yellow flowers open on bare stems in late winter to early spring, filling the garden with sweet perfume when little else is in bloom. As the season progresses, fresh green leaves create a lush canopy, keeping this shrub attractive long after flowering finishes. Its distinctive branching structure also provides architectural interest throughout winter.

Why We Love It

Few shrubs provide such a memorable display in late winter. The large, honey-scented flower clusters appear when the garden is at its quietest, making 'Grandiflora' a rewarding focal point close to entrances, paths or seating areas where its fragrance can be fully enjoyed.
