Position

Choose a warm, open position in full sun. Sheltering the tall flower spikes from strong winds will help prevent damage during flowering.

Watering

Water regularly while plants establish and during prolonged dry spells in spring and early summer. Once established, avoid keeping the crown constantly wet, particularly during winter.

Soil

Plant in fertile, free-draining soil enriched with organic matter. Good drainage is essential, especially on heavier soils, as the fleshy roots dislike sitting in water.
