Overview
Escallonia 'Iveyi' is a vigorous evergreen shrub valued for its glossy dark green foliage and abundant clusters of pure white, lightly fragrant flowers produced throughout summer. Its dense, naturally bushy habit provides year-round structure, making it equally effective as a specimen shrub or an informal hedge.
Highly tolerant of coastal conditions once established, this dependable shrub brings colour, texture and evergreen presence to a wide range of garden styles. The bright white flowers contrast beautifully with the polished foliage and continue over many weeks during the summer months.

Growing Guide
Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. A sunny, sheltered position will encourage the heaviest flowering. Once established, Escallonia 'Iveyi' is well suited to exposed and coastal gardens, provided the soil drains freely.
Water regularly during the first growing season and during prolonged dry periods. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring and mulch annually to help retain soil moisture and improve soil structure.
Wildlife
The nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects throughout the flowering season.
Pruning
Trim lightly after flowering to maintain a dense, tidy shape. If grown as a hedge, annual pruning after the main flush of flowers will keep plants compact while preserving next season's display.
