Fatsia japonica, commonly known as Japanese Aralia, is a handsome evergreen shrub prized for its large, deeply lobed, glossy green leaves that bring bold texture to the garden throughout the year. Growing Guide
Grow in partial shade or full shade in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. While established plants can tolerate some sun, the foliage is generally at its best in sheltered positions protected from strong midday sun and cold, drying winds.
Water regularly while the plant is becoming established and during prolonged dry spells, especially if grown in a container. Apply a mulch in spring to help retain moisture and improve soil structure.
Wildlife
