Growing Guide
Light
Place in bright, indirect light to encourage healthy growth and maintain rich leaf colour. While it will tolerate slightly lower light levels, brighter conditions help produce stronger, more compact growth.
Watering
Allow the upper layer of compost to dry before watering thoroughly. Reduce watering during winter when growth naturally slows, and always avoid leaving the plant sitting in excess water.
Compost
Use a free-draining houseplant compost in a pot with good drainage. Repot only when the roots have filled the container, increasing the pot size gradually.
Routine Care
Wipe the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to remove dust and keep the foliage glossy. Rotate the plant every few weeks for balanced growth and avoid placing it close to radiators, air conditioning or cold draughts.
Indoor Placement
Ideal for bright living rooms, home offices, conservatories and other well-lit interiors. Its upright habit makes it particularly suitable for corners or beside furniture where it can provide height without taking up excessive floor space.
Why We Love It
- Large, glossy foliage creates year-round architectural interest.
- A timeless houseplant that suits both modern and traditional interiors.
- Easy to maintain with consistent care and stable indoor conditions.
- An excellent choice for adding height and structure to a room.
Good to Know
Like many Ficus, this plant may shed a few leaves after being moved while it adjusts to its new surroundings. The milky sap can irritate skin and is best kept away from pets and children.
