Ficus Lyrata - Indoor Plant
Ficus lyrata, or Fiddle-Leaf-Fig sometimes gets a finicky reputation. It's not the easiest houseplant to grow, but its lovely large leaves and tree form make it worth a little effort and a good choice even for the beginning gardener. These small trees are well adapted to indoor temperatures and filtered light and are hardy enough to survive less-than-ideal conditions. The issue with this plant is usually overwatering it, often caused by it being planted in the wrong soil. Water it rarely and make sure it fully drains for best results. Cactus or orchid mix if replanting.
Suppplied in a 21cm pot, plant stands approx 110cm
Key Features:
- Foliage: Large dark green wavy leaves, quite glossy
- Height: 10cm - 10 foot
- Best placement: Will not tolerate a lot of light. A shady spot away from drafts is important
- Care requirements: Water when soil has fully dried out. Ensure excess water drains away
If you're looking for a relatively fast growing plant that will grow to resemble an indoor tree, this one's a fit
