Overview

Fuchsia 'Garden News' is a free-flowering deciduous shrub that brings months of colour to the garden with its graceful, pendant blooms. Its compact, bushy habit makes it an excellent choice for mixed borders, cottage gardens and patio containers, where it flowers continuously from summer well into autumn.

The elegant flowers hang beneath the foliage, creating movement and colour throughout the season. Whether planted as a feature in a container or woven through a mixed border, 'Garden News' provides reliable late-season interest.

Growing Guide

Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. A position in full sun or partial shade is suitable, although some afternoon shade can be beneficial in hotter weather. Water regularly while the plant is establishing and during prolonged dry periods, particularly when grown in containers.

Apply a mulch in spring to help conserve soil moisture and feed during the growing season with a balanced fertiliser according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Wildlife

The nectar-rich flowers are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects, making this an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.

Pruning

In spring, once the risk of severe frost has passed, cut back any stems damaged by winter and lightly shape the plant to encourage vigorous new growth and abundant flowering.
