How to Use

Supporting Tall Flowers

Push the bamboo cane securely into the soil beside the plant, taking care to avoid unnecessary damage to established roots.

Use soft garden twine or suitable plant ties to attach the stem loosely to the cane. Add additional ties higher up as the plant grows.

The 180cm length is particularly useful for tall flowering plants such as hollyhocks, delphiniums and upright perennials.

Supporting Tomatoes

Position a cane beside the tomato plant and secure the developing main stem with soft ties as it grows.

Check the ties periodically and loosen or reposition them where necessary so they do not restrict the thickening stem.

Creating a Wigwam

Arrange several bamboo canes in a circle around the planting area and angle the tops towards one another.

Secure the canes near the top using garden twine, ties or a suitable wigwam cane grip to create a sturdy growing frame.

Train suitable climbing plants up the canes as they develop.

Good to Know

Because bamboo is a natural material, individual canes can vary slightly in diameter, colour, straightness and appearance. These natural variations are normal.

At approximately 12–14mm diameter, this 180cm version is more substantial than the shorter, slimmer canes in the Grow It range, making it well suited to taller plants and larger support structures.

Where exposed cane ends are positioned at eye level, fitting suitable cane eye guards or toppers is recommended.

Care & Storage

Check plant ties periodically during the growing season and adjust them as stems increase in diameter.

At the end of the season, remove soil and plant debris from reusable canes and allow them to dry.

Store spare or reusable bamboo canes somewhere dry and sheltered to help prolong their useful life.
