Hedera algeriensis 'Gloire de Marengo' is a vigorous evergreen climber grown for its large, glossy leaves, each richly coloured in deep green with broad creamy-white margins. The bold foliage provides year-round interest and is especially effective for softening walls, fences and other vertical surfaces. Using aerial rootlets, this ivy naturally clings to suitable supports, creating an attractive living screen with minimal maintenance. It can also be allowed to spread as evergreen ground cover, helping to suppress weeds while providing reliable foliage throughout the seasons. Its tolerance of coastal conditions and urban environments makes it a versatile choice for many Irish gardens.
With broad creamy-white margins framing large, glossy leaves, this versatile evergreen brings instant year-round brightness and structure whether trained up a wall or allowed to carpet shady ground.
