Plant in partial shade or dappled shade where it is protected from strong afternoon sun. It thrives beneath deciduous trees and shrubs or in sheltered woodland-style planting, while also performing well in patio containers.
Water regularly during the first growing season while establishing. Once established, keep the soil evenly moist during prolonged dry spells, particularly in spring and summer.
Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid prolonged winter waterlogging.
Fully hardy throughout Ireland. Remove older foliage in late winter before flowering begins to showcase the blooms and improve air circulation. Apply an annual mulch of compost or leaf mould around the plant to help conserve moisture and improve soil structure.
Feed with a balanced fertiliser after flowering in spring. Established hellebores prefer not to be disturbed and will gradually develop into larger, more floriferous clumps over time.
'Olivia' is part of the ViV® Collection, a premium breeding programme developed to produce compact, floriferous hellebores with an exceptionally long flowering season and excellent garden performance. The flowers naturally develop deeper pink tones as they mature, extending their ornamental display over many weeks.
