Plant in partial shade or dappled shade where the foliage is protected from strong afternoon sun. It performs particularly well beneath deciduous trees and shrubs or in sheltered woodland-style planting.
Keep the soil evenly moist during the first growing season while establishing. Once established, water during prolonged dry spells, particularly during spring and summer and when grown in containers.
Grow in fertile, humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid prolonged winter waterlogging.
Fully hardy throughout Ireland. Remove older or damaged leaves in late winter before flowering to improve the display and encourage healthy new growth. Apply an annual mulch of compost or leaf mould around the crown to conserve moisture and improve soil fertility.
Feed with a balanced fertiliser after flowering in spring. Established hellebores prefer to remain undisturbed and will gradually develop into larger, more floriferous clumps over time.
'Fenna' is part of the ViV® Collection, a premium breeding programme developed to produce compact, floriferous hellebores with an extended flowering season and excellent garden performance. Individual flower colour may deepen slightly as blooms mature and in cooler weather, extending the ornamental display over many weeks.
