Hydrangea arborescens 'Strong Annabelle'®
5 Litre Pot
Plant Highlights: Massive creamy-white flower heads • Strong, upright stems with improved support • Long summer flowering season • Excellent for borders and cut flowers
Hydrangea arborescens 'Strong Annabelle'® is a robust selection of the classic Annabelle hydrangea, bred for its exceptionally sturdy stems that hold the large flower heads upright, even after rain. From early to late summer, rounded clusters of creamy-white flowers emerge with a fresh green tint before maturing to bright white and gradually ageing to soft green as the season progresses.
Supplied in a 5-litre pot, this deciduous shrub makes a striking feature in mixed borders, woodland-style planting and larger containers. The long-lasting blooms are equally attractive in the garden or cut for fresh and dried arrangements.

Plant in full sun or partial shade. In warmer or more exposed gardens, some afternoon shade helps the flowers remain at their best for longer.
Grow in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely during the growing season.
Keep the soil evenly moist while the shrub establishes. Once established, water during extended dry periods, particularly in warm weather or when grown in containers.
Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Cut stems back to a healthy framework to encourage vigorous new shoots, which will carry that season's flowers.
The flowers are visited by bees and other pollinating insects during the flowering season.
