Overview
Hydrangea × 'Runaway Bride'® is an award-winning deciduous hydrangea, celebrated for its unusual flowering habit. Unlike traditional hydrangeas that bloom mainly at the tips of their stems, 'Runaway Bride'® produces elegant white lacecap flowers from both the terminal and side buds, creating a garland-like display along the full length of each branch.
Flowering over an extended period from late spring into summer, this naturally branching shrub offers a profusion of blooms with minimal pruning. Its compact, graceful habit makes it equally at home in mixed borders, woodland-style planting and large patio containers.

Growing Guide
Grow in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. It performs best in partial shade but will also thrive in full sun where the soil remains consistently moist. Water regularly during dry periods, particularly while the plant is becoming established and when grown in containers.
Apply a mulch in spring to help conserve soil moisture and improve soil structure. Feed with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season to support healthy growth and abundant flowering.
Wildlife
The open lacecap flowers provide a nectar source for bees and other pollinating insects, making this an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.
Pruning
Minimal pruning is required. Remove dead, damaged or weak stems in late winter or early spring, and lightly shape the plant after flowering if necessary. Avoid hard pruning, as this can reduce flowering the following season.
