Confirmed format: 3 Litre Pot (P19)

Plant Highlights: Compact panicle hydrangea with upright stems • Lime-green flowers opening to bright white, maturing to soft pink • Ideal choice for borders, smaller gardens, and patio containers • Reliable, long-lasting summer display unaffected by soil pH

Overview

Hydrangea paniculata Gardenlights® 'Whitelight' ('Hylv02' PBR) is a compact deciduous shrub selected for its abundant cone-shaped flower panicles and neat, bushy habit. The blooms emerge with fresh lime-green tones before turning a crisp white through summer, then gradually develop soft pink tints as the season progresses. Its compact size makes it particularly well suited to smaller gardens, mixed borders and patio containers. Unlike mophead hydrangeas, flower colour is not influenced by soil pH, giving a reliable display each year.

Why We Love It

'Whitelight' brings months of changing colour in a compact package. Its strong stems hold the flower panicles upright, making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, decorative containers or as a feature in mixed borders. The flowers are also attractive for fresh or dried arrangements.

Growing Guide

Planting & Position Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. In sunnier positions, ensure the soil remains evenly moist during prolonged dry spells to support the best flowering.
Mulching Apply a mulch in spring to help conserve moisture and improve soil structure.
Pruning Panicle hydrangeas flower on new season's growth, so they can be pruned in late winter or early spring. Remove weak or damaged stems and shorten the previous year's growth to encourage strong new shoots and large flower heads.
