Ilex aquifolium Silver Queen

About this product

Ilex aquifolium 'Silver Queen'

Brighten your garden with the striking Ilex aquifolium 'Silver Queen', an evergreen holly cherished for its elegant, variegated foliage and year-round appeal. Despite its name, 'Silver Queen' is actually a male variety, meaning it won’t produce berries but can serve as an excellent pollinator for female hollies. Its glossy, deep green leaves are beautifully edged with creamy white margins, creating a stunning contrast that adds a touch of brightness to shaded areas.

With a mature height of 12-15 feet and a spread of 8-10 feet, this holly boasts a naturally upright, bushy habit that makes it perfect for hedges, borders, or as a striking specimen plant. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts well to a range of soil types, including poor or sandy soils. Low-maintenance and hardy, 'Silver Queen' brings structure and sophistication to any garden, while its prickly leaves provide added security as a natural barrier.
