Ilex Meserveae 'Blue Maid'
The Ilex Meserveae 'Blue Maid' is a very striking variety of holly. Great for brightening up winter gardens it's dark green glossy foliage has a deep blue haze and although is slightly spikey the prickles tend to be soft. Small white flowers appear in Springtime and are followed by a long lasting heavy crop of berries which become a vibrant bright red later in the season. It is low maintenance, evergreen and hardy.
Grown and shaped into a lollipop/standard it gives a striking effect when next to a doorway or pathway especially at Christmas, and it is equally suited to growing in the open ground or in planters. Sold without berries
