Growing Guide
Plant in full sun for the best flowering, although it will also perform well in light partial shade. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil and benefits from good air circulation. Avoid heavy, waterlogged ground during winter.
Water regularly while establishing, then only during prolonged dry periods. A spring mulch will help conserve moisture and improve soil structure.
Wildlife
The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, making this an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.
Pruning
Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continued blooming throughout the season. Cut the plant back to ground level in late autumn or early spring after the foliage has died back.
