Growing Guide
Plant in a sunny, open position with free-draining soil. English lavender thrives in dry, well-drained conditions and performs best where the roots are not exposed to prolonged winter wet.
Water regularly during the first growing season while establishing. Once established, water only during extended dry periods. Avoid excessive feeding, as this can encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
Wildlife
The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects throughout the flowering season.
Pruning
Lightly trim after flowering to maintain the neat pyramid shape and encourage dense growth. Avoid cutting into old woody stems where there is little or no leafy growth, as these may not regenerate.
