Ligustrum japonicum 'Texanum', commonly known as Texanum Privet, is a dense evergreen shrub valued for its glossy dark green foliage and naturally compact, upright growth. Expertly trained onto a 90 × 50cm espalier frame, it creates an instant architectural feature while providing attractive year-round structure and screening.
Its neat habit and excellent response to pruning make it ideal for formal gardens, contemporary landscapes and courtyard planting. Small, creamy-white flowers may appear in summer on less frequently clipped plants, adding seasonal interest and attracting pollinating insects.

Plant in full sun or partial shade. It grows well in sheltered or moderately exposed positions and tolerates urban conditions.
Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a healthy root system. Once established, water during prolonged dry periods, particularly if grown in a container.
Grow in fertile, well-drained soil. It adapts well to a wide range of soil types provided they are not persistently waterlogged.
