Mahonia wagneri Fireflame 10ltr

Easily taken for granted, these tough, spiny-leaved evergreen shrubs have a number of garden uses. Some are good for covering the ground while others are imposing subjects for the back of a border.

The Mahonia x wagneri 'Fireflame' is a variety of hybrid Mahonia that stands out for the superb autumn and winter colors of its foliage. In late winter, this evergreen bush offers a remarkable spectacle with its purple holly-like leaves, yellow flowers, slightly fragrant and nectar-producing. Followed by clusters of blue-black fruits. Truly adaptable, this mahonia tolerates a wide range of soils. Whether in the ground or in pots, it will thrive in all areas, even in the shade of large trees.

Reaching a height of 1.5-2 meters with a spread of 1-1.5 meters, this species is ideal as a specimen in your garden, or mixed in with other shrubs in a bed. Not fussy about placement, will be just as happy in full sun as it will in full shade. Mature stems may go bare at the bottom and can be cut back to about 15 cm to rejuvenate.
