Phlebodium aureum 'Blue Star'
14cm Pot
Plant Highlights: Unique blue-green wavy fronds • Soft, architectural evergreen foliage • Thrives in humid indoor environments • Pet-friendly houseplant
Overview
Phlebodium aureum 'Blue Star' is an elegant tropical fern prized for its distinctive blue-green fronds and relaxed, arching habit. The deeply lobed, softly textured leaves have a unique glaucous tint that sets this fern apart from more traditional houseplant ferns, bringing cool colour and natural texture to indoor spaces.
Its easy-going nature and tolerance of typical indoor conditions make it an excellent choice for bright bathrooms, living rooms and home offices. Unlike many ferns, 'Blue Star' is relatively forgiving, provided it is kept out of strong direct sunlight and the compost is not allowed to dry out completely.

Growing Guide
Indoor Placement
Position in bright, indirect light or light shade. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the fronds and cause the blue-green colouring to fade. A naturally humid room such as a bright bathroom is particularly well suited.
Watering
Keep the compost evenly moist but never waterlogged. Water when the surface begins to dry, allowing excess water to drain away. Avoid letting the root ball dry out completely.
Humidity
Higher humidity encourages healthy, lush fronds. Bathrooms and kitchens with natural light are ideal, or humidity can be increased with a pebble tray if the air is particularly dry.
Feeding
Apply a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser at half strength once a month during spring and summer. Feeding is generally unnecessary during winter.
